What’s New With the 2023 Terrain?
The GMC Terrain is a compact SUV that is family-friendly and reliable, making it a great everyday ride. While the Terrain only saw minor changes this year, we’re fine with that considering its reputation as an easy-to-drive, convenient vehicle. And although the changes were relatively minor, they still make the 2023 model the best yet.
For 2023 the Terrain saw a small increase in horsepower. GMC took it up from 170 hp to 175 hp, which is plenty of pep for getting around town or carpooling. The brakes were also upgraded with the new Eboost electronic power brake assist system for more reliable stopping power. The interior of the Terrain remained mostly the same, with a minimal, no-fuss appearance that makes it easy to just get in and drive.
Drivers have four trim choices to choose from, starting with the entry-level SLE. Next up is the SLT, which gives drivers access to conveniences like the model’s programmable power liftgate and head-up display. The AT4 is one level up and comes with off-road features like sport terrain tires, a steel front skid plate, and a traction select system for increased handling. The highest trim level is the Denali, which gives drivers standard all-wheel drive, GMC Pro Safety Plus, built-in navigation, and the trademark chrome Denali grille. For the SLE and SLT trims, drivers can opt for the Elevation Edition package, which sports glossy black accents and 19-inch gloss-black painted aluminum wheels.
All four trim options come with the same base 1.5L turbocharged engine and nine-speed automatic transmission. The SLE and SLT have standard front-wheel drive with the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive for increased traction and performance in cold Minnesota winters, while the AT4 and Denali come standard with all-wheel drive. However, either way, drivers will notice the Terrain’s comfortable interior that is durable enough to stand up to everyday use.
How Is the Acadia for 2023?
The midsize GMC Acadia is looking good for 2023, with plenty to offer, including several new paint hues as well as the addition of a leather-wrapped steering wheel on all but the base trim. While those are pretty small changes, this model saw a major redesign just last year, so drivers can look forward to an efficient and comfortable ride.
This three-row SUV is popular because of its flexibility and great performance. Like the Terrain, the 2023 Acadia includes four trims: the SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. While the entry-level SLE and SLT both feature a standard 2.0L turbocharged engine, drivers leveling up to the AT4 or Denali will get access to increased power in the form of a 3.6L V6 engine. This larger engine provides 310 hp and 4,000 lbs of towing capacity.
The 2023 Acadia has two editions that drivers can pick from for a more custom ride. The Elevation Edition offers glossy black exterior accents, black GMC emblems, and gloss-black wheels. The Denali Black Diamond Edition features a Dual SkyScape two-panel power sunroof, the Denali Technology Package, 20-inch After Midnight Finish wheels, and more.
Mankato families will love the Acadia’s flexible seating that gives them easy access across all three rows. The second row offers the Smart Slide feature to make accessing the third row trouble-free, even when a child seat is in place. Further, both rear rows fold flat so drivers can take advantage of the Acadia’s max cargo space of 79 cu.ft.
Go Big With the 2023 Yukon and Yukon XL
The Yukon is GMC’s answer to the full-size SUV. If you require a vehicle that is capable of hauling everything and everyone without complaint, the Yukon is what you need to succeed. This full-size SUV can seat up to eight passengers across three rows, while the cargo room will vary depending on if you opt for the standard Yukon or the extended wheelbase Yukon XL.
As for what’s new for 2023, the Yukon lineup is getting the addition of the Denali Ultimate trim for the first time ever. For drivers that want power and luxury, this is huge in more ways than one. The Yukon Denali Ultimate is bursting with first-class tech and premium features, including all the creature comforts drivers want, like headrest-mounted speakers, available Super Cruise technology, an Alpine Umber interior with leather seating, and a power-sliding center console.
The entry-level Yukon SLE trim comes standard with a 5.3L V8 engine that gives drivers a lot of power for the price. However, if that’s not enough, consider upgrading to the AT4, Denali, or Denali Ultimate to unlock an impressive 6.2L V8 engine. Every trim can also be equipped with a 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine for impressive torque and fuel economy. All in all, the GMC Yukon has a stellar reputation for a reason. It offers drivers superior performance and comfort, and now with the addition of the new Denali Ultimate trim, drivers get more power and luxury than ever before.
