A Legacy of Power and Sophistication

The GMC that we know and love today has come a long way from its origins, in some ways, but for the better part of a century, it has represented remarkable capability and bold style within the auto industry. GMC got its start all the way back in 1900 with the formation of the Grabowsky Motor Company by two brothers named Max and Morris Grabowsky. While they initially formed their company in Detroit, they moved it to Pontiac, Michigan, in 1902 and changed the name of their business to Rapid Motor Vehicle Company. After some initial success, they were acquired by William Durant in 1909, and he brought the company into the fold of the larger General Motors conglomerate that he had started the previous year.

In 1911, GM created the General Motors Truck Company and Rapid Motor Vehicle Company, along with another Durant acquisition called Reliance Motor Car Company, which was folded into it. The following year, GM stopped using the Reliance and Rapid names, instead going with GMC as an abbreviation for General Motors Truck Company—this is why you might seem some people refer to it as “GMTC” on occasion. GMC became the premier truck brand within General Motors and a major part of American history: they provided trucks to the US Army, with 90% of GMC trucks going to the military in 1918. More than 8,500 GMC trucks were used during the First World War, while more than 600,000 GMC trucks were deployed by the US Armed Forces throughout World War II.

In the 1920s, GM produced trucks under both the GMC and Chevy names; while Chevy models were generally marketed to farmers, laborers, and other private buyers (what we could refer to as “consumers” these days), GM targeted businesses to purchase GMC trucks for commercial use. This is where the foundation of GMC and Chevy sharing platforms and many components began, with both brands offering similar models that were designed for different markets. You can see this still with the GMC Sierra and the Chevy Silverado models, though the Sierra tends to offer more luxury features. Throughout the decades since, GMC has remained a leader in developing hard-working trucks that can handle just about anything.

Fantastic New and Used GMC Models

The modern GMC lineup is quite straightforward, though it offers some of the most impressive and capable trucks and SUVs on the road. Models like the GMC Terrain and Acadia provide you with fantastic crossover options that give you plenty of seating inside for family and friends, while the Yukon and Yukon XL are among the largest SUVs on the market. If you are looking to get some serious work done, then the GMC Sierra 1500 is one of the most powerful trucks out there, and it is the perfect choice for a hard-working pickup. For something smaller, the Canyon is a midsize truck with all of the capability and heart you would expect from GMC.

As you look at different GMC models, keep in mind that the Denali trims represent some of the most refined and exquisite luxury available anywhere. These are gorgeous and sophisticated models that provide robust performance while ensuring you look forward to every opportunity to get behind the wheel. Plus, if you are interested in getting a taste of the future of the auto industry, then you owe it to yourself to experience the all-electric GMC Hummer EV. Available as either a Pickup or SUV model, the Hummer EV has revolutionized what we expect when it comes to emission-free luxury.

While we love the refinement of a brand-new GMC model, we know that many of our customers prefer pre-owned vehicles to best meet their needs. That is why we work hard to maintain a fantastic selection of used GMC trucks and SUVs for you to choose from. No matter what you are looking for in your next pre-owned vehicle, we will do everything we can to help you find it and ensure you drive away happy. GMC vehicles are renowned for their reliability and style, giving you an accessible truck or SUV that you can count on for many years to come.

Simple, Straightforward GMC Financing

For a lot of people, figuring out financing is not the part of the car-buying process they are looking forward to the most. We understand; talking about finances, looking at credit reports, and considering options can be a headache, which is why we work to take as much hassle out of the process as possible. Our financing experts can help you apply for auto loans, explore your options, and work with you to find a solution that meets your needs. Even if you already have a loan offer, we can quickly check to make sure you are getting the best terms possible.

If you are interested in enjoying a brand-new GMC truck or SUV without making a long-term commitment, then a GMC lease could be the perfect option. With a lease, you get to make the most of what a new GMC model has to offer, drive it for several years, and then return it to purchase a different model or even lease another new vehicle. Leasing is not the right choice for everyone, but if you are not interested in buying a truck and simply want something new to drive for a few years without a major commitment, then we are ready to discuss your GMC lease options with you.
