The GMC Sierra 1500 is one of the most exciting and capable trucks on the road, giving you fantastic power, performance, and technology, all packed into a single vehicle. That can be a lot to process, especially if you are trying to sort through all eight trim levels offered on the 2023 Sierra 1500 and decide which one is right for you. Fortunately, you don’t have to try to figure everything out on your own. As your GMC dealer, Snell Buick GMC is here to help take you through the variety of options available to you and ensure you get exactly the right truck. While we’re always happy to talk to you and get into more details about the Sierra 1500 in person, we thought it would be fun to go over the different trims for this truck and get a sense of what each has to offer.

Sierra 1500 Pro

To kick things off, we have the starting trim for the Sierra 1500, which is the Pro. This option comes with the standard 2.7L Turbo High-Output engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and two-wheel drive. If you want to take things further, you can choose the available 5.3L V8 engine with its 10-speed automatic. Four-wheel drive is also available. You get 17-inch painted silver wheels wrapped in all-season tires on the Pro, along with chrome front and rear bumpers, LED daytime running lights, and black side mirrors.

Inside the Pro trim, you’ll find a standard seven-inch color infotainment display with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other amenities include vinyl seating with four-way manually-adjustable front seats and a rubberized vinyl floor covering. You get a 3.5-inch monochromatic Driver Information Center with the Pro trim, power windows and door locks, Remote Keyless Entry, and single-zone climate control to round things out.

Sierra 1500 SLE

Moving up to the SLE trim, you’ll find some big changes and more options available. For example, the SLE comes with the same standard 2.7L engine as the Pro and has the 5.3L V8 available—but you can also choose the available 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine for the SLE, which isn’t offered on the Pro. Other differences include the fact that the SLE comes with cargo bed LED lighting, chrome mirror caps, and GMC’s fantastic MultiPro Tailgate with incredible functionality; these are all available for the Pro but not standard.

Inside the SLE, you’ll find a number of impressive upgrades that may be reason enough to upgrade from the Pro, including a 13.4-inch GMC Premium Infotainment system with Google built-in for robust functionality. The SLE supports Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, comes with cloth seating, and features a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. You get heated front seats in the SLE, carpeted floor covering, a heated steering wheel, and a 12.3-inch color Driver Information Center display. With more features like Keyless Open and Start plus dual-zone automatic climate control, it’s easy to see why the SLE is such a popular choice.

Sierra 1500 Elevation

While the move from the Pro to the SLE is quite radical in terms of improvements, the upgrades with the Elevation trim are more evolutionary. You get the same engine options with the Elevation as the SLE, but the Elevation features 20-inch high gloss Black aluminum wheels, body-color front and rear bumpers, and LED fog lamps to set it apart. Many of the standard features of the Elevation are the same as the SLE, but there are numerous options available that you can’t get on the lower trim, such as front bucket seats, a Bose Premium sound system, and a wireless charging pad.

Sierra 1500 SLT

There are several important things to keep in mind when considering the SLT trim. The first is that it comes standard with the 5.3L V8 engine rather than the 2.7L powertrain found in the previous trims. The SLT has chrome front and rear bumpers, full chrome surround window moldings, chrome outside mirror caps, and chrome details on the grille for an upscale look. Inside, the SLT has a lot of the same great features as the Elevation, though it comes with perforated leather-appointed front seats and auto-dimming mirrors for added luxury and functionality.

Sierra 1500 AT4

The AT4 is the first of two off-road focused trims for the 2023 Sierra 1500, so if you’re looking for a truck to take on the trails, this is a great place to start. You get the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine standard on the AT4 trim, with a powerful 6.2L V8 gas engine available if you prefer that over diesel. Four-wheel drive is also standard on the AT4 and is the only option available since this is an off-road model.

You’ll find 18-inch machined aluminum wheels on the Sierra 1500 AT4 wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac mud-terrain tires. It also has skid plates to protect the underbody and an off-road suspension with a two-inch factory lift. Inside the AT4, you’ll find fantastic features, including 10-way power front seats, perforated leather seating, heated front and rear seats, and innovative technology to elevate your off-road experience.

Sierra 1500 Denali

If you’re looking for an incredibly luxurious driving experience, then the Denali trim is definitely for you. The Sierra 1500 Denali comes with the 5.3L V8 engine standard, though the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel and 6.2L V8 engines are both available. You get 20-inch alloy wheels, body-color bumpers, six-inch chrome full-length assist steps, a Signature Denali grille, and much more to set this gorgeous trim apart from other trucks. Inside the Sierra 1500 Denali, you’ll find all of the advanced features from the lower trims, along with a seven-speaker Bose Premium sound system, Forge perforated leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats, and rich luxury details throughout.

Sierra 1500 AT4X

For an off-road experience that’s on another level, there’s the new AT4X trim, which was made available for the first time on the 2022 Sierra 1500. The AT4X features an off-road suspension with a two-inch factory lift and Multimatic DSSV dampers for incredible handling on the trail. You get 18-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Territory mud-terrain tires and a heavy-duty external engine oil cooler. Inside the AT4X, you’ll discover incredible luxury details, including a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system, 16-way power front seats, and full-grain leather upholstery that ensures remarkable comfort wherever the trail takes you.

Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate

While the AT4X is the ultimate expression of off-road performance for the 2023 Sierra 1500, if absolute luxury is your goal, then the stunning Denali Ultimate is the way to go. The Denali Ultimate comes with a unique Vader Chrome grille and offers a variety of 22-inch wheels that look absolutely stunning. You get a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system in the Denali Ultimate, along with Forge perforated leather seating, including 16-way power front seats with power lumbar and massage functionality. With a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel and 15-inch multicolor head-up display included, plus GMC’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology available, the Denali Ultimate truly lives up to its name.
